Day 1 Flight to Nyerere National Park (Selous)

Welcome to Tanzania! In the morning you fly from Julius Nyerere International Airport directly to Nyerere National Park (former Selous Game Reserve). Depending on the arrival of your international flight it is possible to take an earlier or later flight, or to book an overnight stay in Dar es Salaam (not included).

You will be met at the airstrip and transferred Rufiji River Camp, your  home for the next three nights. Rufiji River Camp is a beautiful tented camp located high up on the banks of the Rufiji River. After settling in and lunch with great river views, you make a first game drive in the afternoon.

Day 2 & 3 Nyerere National Park

Two full days to explore the immense game reserve! You will do game drives in an open 4WD safari vehicle. Together with an experienced guide, you drive into the wilderness in search of the wide variety of animals. Apart from elephants, giraffes, hippos and many other species of mammals, the area has an abundance of water birds, including fish eagles and kingfishers.

In addition, a boat trip at the Rufiji River should not be missed out during your safari. Nyerere is one of the few national parks in Africa where you can see game from the water. And how about a safari on foot? Walking safaris are a great way to get closer to nature and obtain attention for the little things that you would not be able to witness from the car or boat. Since Nyerere National Park is so little visited, it is not uncommon to spend hours without seeing any other visitors. This gives you the feeling that you have the park for yourself!

Day 4 Flight to Zanzibar

After three nights out in the bush we say goodbye to Nyerere today. In the morning you will fly per Cessna to the exotic Zanzibar.

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport you will be driven to Paje at the south east coast of the island. A warm welcome awaits you at Kisiwa on the Beach. You will stay here in a private villa amidst swaying palm trees.

Day 5-7 Zanzibar

Welcome to the little paradise of lush tropical gardens, white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and barefoot luxury! For the next three days you are not expected to do anything more than unwind and enjoy the splendors of the scenic coast. Take a walk on the beach, discover sleepy fishing villages, relax at your own private balcony or have a cocktail by the pool.

You can also choose to explore Zanzibar Island. Rent a bike or take a walk in Jozani Forest. Get lost in the magic of Stone Town or go for a safari under water with a snorkeling trip.
