After settling in and enjoying lunch with river views, your first afternoon game drive offers a thrilling introduction to the surrounding wildlife.

Day 2 - 3 – Immersed in southern Tanzania’s wild heart
Spend two days exploring the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park, part of the historic Selous Game Reserve. It is the perfect place to unwind and soak in your tropical surroundings.

The best time is June to October. This period offers clear skies, excellent wildlife viewing, and perfect conditions for boat and walking safaris in Nyerere National Park. Zanzibar is also dry with pleasant temperatures. Note that the south can be challenging during the wet season (April – May), when the majority of the lodges close.
What type of accommodation can I expect in Nyerere and Zanzibar?
In Nyerere National Park, we have selected a charming tented camp perched along the banks of the Rufiji River, offering you an immersive bush experience. Is this fly-in safari suitable for children?
Yes, this fly-in safari is perfect for families, too! Children will enjoy the short scenic flights, comfortable transfers, and private accommodations with a swimming pool. They can spot elephants and giraffes on game drives and look for hippos in the river. We can adjust the itinerary to suit your family’s needs, making it 100% child-friendly.
Why choose southern Tanzania over the classic northern parks?
Southern Tanzania, including Nyerere (Selous), is the ultimate hideaway: far from the crowds yet brimming with wildlife. Here, you can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and walking safaris in a truly untamed wilderness. The short flight from Nyerere to Zanzibar perfectly combines a thrilling safari and an idyllic beach escape.
Can you also arrange our stay in Dar es Salaam before the safari?
We can arrange a comfortable hotel stay in Dar es Salaam, including airport transfers, tailored to your flight and travel itinerary. Many travelers add an extra day or night to relax and acclimatize before heading into the wilderness. So why not explore this vibrant African metropolis with a personal guide and discover the highlights of Dar es Salaam?
