Day 1 – Welcome to Tanzania!
Your adventure begins the moment you land. Your guide will warmly welcome you and drive you to your first overnight with stunning views of Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania. Take a deep breath of fresh African air as you settle in. Once the night falls, marvel at the endless, star-filled sky stretching above you.

Day 2 – In search of Tarangire’s elephants
Drive into Tarangire National Park, a landscape dotted with iconic baobab trees and nourished by the Tarangire River. In this scenic park, you may encounter graceful giraffes, mighty buffaloes, and, if you’re lucky, stealthy lions or cheetahs. But it is the elephants that truly steal the show here. Massive families move majestically across the plains, offering unforgettable close-up moments.

Day 3 – Explore colorful Mto wa Mbu on foot or by bike
Today’s journey takes you from Tarangire to the bustling town of Mto wa Mbu, a melting pot of cultures nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley. A local guide who knows every corner of the village will walk you through lush banana plantations, past mud-brick homes, bustling market stalls, and friendly smiles. It is a chance to slow down and take in the rhythm of rural Tanzanian life.
Feeling adventurous? Set off on a mountain bike instead and ride through the fields and back roads for a more active glimpse into this vibrant community.

Day 4 – Crossing into the legendary Serengeti plains
Continue toward the legendary Serengeti, with a scenic stop to admire the breathtaking views over the Ngorongoro Crater. As the landscape opens up, vast golden grasslands stretch as far as the eye can see. You will spot granite rock formations known as “kopjes” scattered across the plains. These rocky outcrops are prime real estate for lions, who use them as lookout points and safe places to hide their cubs.
Tonight, settle into your tented camp, where canvas walls and lantern light bring the timeless “Out of Africa” atmosphere to life. Enjoy dinner under the stars, with the sounds of distant roars and rustling nearby to remind you that the wild is never far away.

Day 5 – Into the heart of the Serengeti
Wake up to the golden light of dawn and a full day of game drives ahead in one of Africa’s most iconic landscapes. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park and home to the legendary Great Migration. Your guide knows exactly where to go depending on the season, bringing you close to the action and the drama of the wild.
Want to make it even more magical? Start your morning with a sunrise hot air balloon safari. Float over the golden savannah at sunrise, followed by a champagne toast and breakfast in the bush.

Day 6 – Uncover the secrets of the Ngorongoro Crater
Rise early today, as you will drive to and descend into one of Earth’s most remarkable wildlife havens. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, offers breathtaking views from the rim before revealing its hidden world below.
Landscapes on the crater floor shift from open grasslands to acacia forest and shallow lakes. Flamingos gather at Lake Magadi, hippos wallow in cool pools, and massive elephants roam through the forest. With luck, you might even spot the rare black rhino grazing nearby.

Day 7 – From Maasai lands to Zanzibar’s shores
Before catching your flight to the island paradise of Zanzibar, enjoy a visit to a traditional Maasai boma. It is a unique opportunity to have a glimpse into the daily life, customs, and rich culture of this community.
In the afternoon, fly from Arusha to Zanzibar. Your driver will be waiting to take you to your beachside retreat: a charming, small-scale hotel set right on the white sands. This is where the next chapter of your journey begins: rest, relaxation, and island serenity.

Day 8 - 11 – Unwind and explore the island paradise of Zanzibar
Spend four blissful days in Zanzibar, with endless white sand beaches stretching beneath swaying palm trees. The warm, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean invite you to relax and recharge. Stroll the pristine shores, snorkel vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life, or unwind by the pool with a refreshing drink. To taste local life, hop on a bike and explore charming villages, where you will see daily scenes of lively markets, bustling schools, and beautiful mosques standing proudly. Zanzibar is a perfect blend of relaxation and discovery, extending your unforgettable safari with unforgettable moments by the sea.

Is Zanzibar safe and easy to explore on our own?
Yes, Zanzibar is generally safe and welcoming. The beach extension makes a perfect addition to the safari to unwind and reflect on all the impressions from your safari. If you are in the mood for more than just beachside relaxation and tropical cocktails, there is a wide range of things to do in Zanzibar. Wander through the winding alleys of historic Stone Town, explore the vibrant underwater world, walk among the red colobus monkeys in Jozani Forest, or breathe in the aromas of the spices that made the island famous.
When is the best time to go on safari and visit Zanzibar?
Tanzania is a fantastic destination year-round, but the best time depends on what you want to see and experience. The dry season from late June to October is perfect for wildlife viewing, as animals gather around water sources and the landscape is easier to explore. For bird lovers and those wanting to see the calving season, February to March in the southern circuit (Ndutu) is incredible. Zanzibar’s warm, sunny weather makes it an ideal beach escape almost any time, though the green seasons (March–May and November) bring occasional showers but fewer crowds and lush scenery.
Is it possible to upgrade to more luxurious accommodation options?
If you are looking for an extra touch of luxury or exclusivity, we can upgrade the selection of accommodations to semi-luxe or high-end lodges. On safari, this could mean elegant tented camps with fine dining and personal touches like outdoor showers or a luxurious bathtub overlooking the savannah. At Zanzibar, you may opt for a stylish beachfront villa or a boutique resort with a private plunge pool, spa treatments, and sunset dinners on the beach.
