Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters) is often called the “Rooftop of Africa”. It is one of the world’s most accessible high summits, a beacon for visitors from around the world. Most climbers reach the crater rim with little more than a walking stick, protective clothing and determination. And those who reach Uhuru Peak, the actual summit, will be rewarded with a climbing certificate..

The snowed top of Mount Kilimanjaro reaches far above the northern plateau and hills of Tanzania. At clear weather you will be witnessing an amazing spectacle. Kilimanjaro is located close to the city of Moshi and it is protected area. The landscape is as beautiful as varied. On the lower slopes you will find agricultural lands where coffee, bananas, cassava and maize are grown for subsistence and cash sale.

A few larger coffee farms still exist on the lower slopes, but much of the area outside the National Park has been subdivided into small farms.

Once inside the park, the thick lowland forest covers the lower altitudes and breaks into alpine area once the air begins to thin. Near the peak the landscape is harsh and barren, dominated by rocks and ice.

Reaching the “Rooftop of Africa” is an experience of a lifetime. Everybody with a good health condition, experienced or not, can reach the snowed peak.

There are several routes to climb on Mount Kilimanjaro:
