The climate at the coast of Tanzania and on the islands is tropical. In the northern parks it is less hot, but generally between 25-30 degrees and this is very pleasant.

Temperatures on Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru drop to below freezing

In the area of Arusha (1300 meter above sea level) it can be cool during the so called “winter months” June up to August.

On the Ngrorongoro Crater rim it can actually be very cold in the months June up to August. Despite of this it is absolutely worth visiting this phenomenon during the colder months
